WW members rehearse
Happy faces at the first rehearsal of the season.

Rehearsals are underway for the first concert of the 2014-15 season. The first rehearsal on September 7 found members eager to meet the challenge of learning the program for our first set of concerts, themed Konzert der Deutschen Musik. The concert features music for wind ensemble by German composers, including Hindemith’s Symphony in B Flat, the Serenade for Winds by Richard Strauss, Kurt Weill’s Three Penny Opera Music, and the second movement of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1.

We are very pleased to feature our own principal horn player Tony Snyder, who will perform Richard Strauss’ Concerto No. 1 for French Horn.

We will be performing this program on Sunday October 19 in Kitchener and Sunday October 26 in Waterloo. Both concerts are at 3 pm. Judging by the quality of the first rehearsal, these concerts promise to be memorable performances of this great music.
